The First Presbyterian of Salem

Welcome to First Presbyterian Church of Salem, New Jersey. We are a congregation where conventional labels such as “conservative” or “evangelical” do not sufficiently capture the fullness of who we are: a caring church under the Lordship of Jesus Christ who share and show the love of God; a community of believers who, by the Holy Spirit, strive to be biblically and theologically informed and inspired; servants called by God’s grace to cast a vision of hope and spiritual vitality in worship and service, working together to extend Christ’s mission of compassion in our community and world.

Worship Schedule
Worship Service – 11:00 am
Fellowship Hour – 12:00 noon
Sunday School – 9:30 am (for all ages)

Summer Worship Service – 10:00 am (beginnng June 11)
No Sunday School or Fellowship Hour after May 21

Not everyone serves the Lord in the same way!  The beauty of church life is that everyone has different gifts and part of life in the church is discovering what your gifts might be.  We invite you to explore our ministries and to join us in finding your gifts.

Lighthouse Ministry, Inc.

The Lighthouse Ministry Inc. exists to serve Salem City families and the local youth community through educational outreach and activities focused upon the holistic development of the individual’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Best Faith Community 

We are honored to be selected by our Salem County neighbors, in a survey conducted by the Salem County Chamber of Commerce, as the Best Faith Community of 2021.

Pedersen-Campbell Award

1st Presbyterian Church of Salem has been awarded the 2021 Pedersen-Campbell Award by Stand Up for Salem for our community presence and support. 

We are truly blessed to serve the Lord in many ways in Salem City and beyond.
